Leaning Tree

This conifer tree near Caddy Park leans curiously towards the ocean. There are some very unusual shaped trees located along this walking path across from Wollaston Beach near the saltmarsh. I chose monochrome to show the trees unusual formation on this slightly foggy scene. You can see more black and white images by clicking on the Monochrome Maniacs site here.

I'm so glad to find you! I've see comments from and visited the blog of, Clueless in Boston. It's great to discover other Massachusetts bloggers.

That's a very cool monochrome.

This IS odd, I guess we would expect it to lean away from the winds of the ocean. There are many odd nature curiosities in this world. Maybe God wants us to stop and wonder!

Great picture

How interesting! Most seaside trees lean because they have been blown by the wind. Great photo.

I really like the sense of motion in the picture - the tree going one way, the figure another. Great.

I echo Cal's words on the movement. I really rate your photography a very observant eye.

My first thought was that I know where the wind comes from...but no! Interesting that the trees lean towards the ocean and the wind! Great shot! =)

And thanks for the visit!

Odd that it leans toward the ocean. The coastal trees I've seen always seem to lean the other way. Way cool!

That IS odd - I keep feeling the urge to straighten the shot.

Very interesting. The momochrome really brings it out.

That's really interesting. I've seen trees like that on the edge of beaches that bend away from the ocean, but never toward it. Really great shot.

Trees by the ocean normally lean away from the sea due to the wind. Very strange but a super B&W image.

The wind must blow and blow there! Great subject for B&W.

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
