Election Day 2016!

 I recently spotted these political symbols on one of my shopping excursions in the men's sock area.  The cartoonist, Thomas Nast, is responsible for making the Democratic donkey and Republican elephant famous in his published cartoons in the 1800s.

Quincy Firsts?

Quincy's School Committee race was uncontested until candidate and former School Committee woman, Emily Lebo, entered the race as a write-in candidate.  She enters the race with energy, expertise, and past school committee experience that she can offer the citizens of Quincy.  If she is successful in her bid, she will become Quincy's first elected write-in candidate!  On the other hand, if one of her opponents, James Vincent DeAmicis, is successful in his bid, he will be the youngest elected city official at age 19.  It's a good thing he isn't a write-in candidate - he has a long name! Election Day is next Tuesday, November 3rd.  Go vote!

Travel Tuesday: Concord, New Hampshire

Today is the day to exercise your right to vote.  If you don't vote, then you have no right to complain later.  This campaign board was captured on a recent tour of New Hampshire's State House.
