I still get a sense of wonder when I get up in the morning, look out the window and see the first snow coating on the rooftops.

I agree! I've got the same basic view ( : and I'm tickled.
That sure is some bright sunshine! And white, too. It may sound crazy but 2-3 inches on Christmas morning would sure be nice here. (I don't think I should hold my breath.)
