Author Talk

Meet Christopher Klein, author of Discovering The Boston Harbor Islands, who gave a superb book presentation this week at the Thomas Crane Public Library.  This program was sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  It gave me an opportunity to express my gratitude to the author for his well researched book.  It has been one of my "go to" resources for my blog posts about the islands.

There are 34 islands in the Boston Harbor Island National Park system; I have been fortunate to have visited 15 of them over the years and am always ready to go "island hopping".

I will be sharing some of my Bumpkin Island images later this week.

I just posted a link to this blog post on my Facebook page with the following caption: Some day soon I will meet "slim," author of this blog. I may know him already but not by that "handle." He has many photos of Thomas Crane Public Library among his hundreds of stunning shots of this area, and his captions are consistently positive and uplifting. I'm glad he enjoyed Monday night's presentation and wonder if he was at last night's, about Hough's Neck, as well. These two programs gave me a much better understanding of the sites featured in so many of slim's photos. Thank you, slim! Harry The Librarian.

Glad you enjoyed the program on Discovering the Boston Harbor Islands! What a great audience we had in Quincy!

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
