is there really a "grand view" on grandview avenue?
Yes, Brattcat, thanks for asking. The avenue was well named. It is situated on a drumlin or hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, about one mile to the east, and overlooking Boston, about 10 miles to the north. Some folks have a magnificent view from the upper floors of their mostly Victorian style homes. A few of Boston's well-to-do merchants lived here at the turn of the 19th century and commuted into work on the local railroad.
