I traveled to the finish line of the Boston Marathon yesterday as I have for many years on Patriots Day. I captured this photo of the international flags before the horrific explosions shrouded the scene. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.

Horrible. I followed this on the news for several hours last night.
I'm so glad you're okay. And so sad for those whose joy turned so suddenly to shock and sorrow. What a terrible day.
Such a great shot! I'm glad you are okay but my heart aches for those who were injured and for the lives lost.
So glad you missed getting hurt.
I feel deeply saddened. My condolences to all.
We must keep running in the marathon of life.
Are you ok?
We are all so shell shocked...
I'm so glad you weren't hurt! I'm sorry I missed your SkyWatch post last week, there was one other Boston SkyWatcher that I knew of who had also been at the Marathon finish line taking photos before the bombs went off, but I missed yours - which is a real beauty!
Boston is my favorite city (some of its pilgrim founders - including John Quincy Adams - are in my family tree), and while violence like this makes my heart sick wherever it takes place, I felt a special ache to see it among the familiar and beloved Boston landmarks. It was so good to see Boston's generosity and resilience on such display, and to see the outpouring of sorrow and support from around the world. You're all still in our thoughts, especially the victims and their loved ones.
