This landscape image is from the recent deep freeze of Blacks Creek.

Flood Tide

It's unusual to see the brackish water in the estuary at Black's Creek. Meadowbrook Road is in the background.

Heap of Clouds

The eel grass in Quincy's estuaries turns to gold in the autumn.  I like the arched branch of berries in the foreground of this scene and the exploding cumulus clouds filling the autumn sky.

What Floats Your Boat?

The summer-like weather conditions prompted me to post this peaceful scene leftover from this past summer.  Enjoy, because change is coming!

Lush Green

You would never know that we are in the midst of a drought by this view of Blacks Creek.

New Residents

A young pair of osprey have appeared and have been adding materials to a nesting platform near Blacks Creek.  This is the first year the platform has had inhabitants.  I wonder if there be any chicks this year. I'll be scoping them out from time to time.

Flood Tide

This view of Squantum is taken from the flooded salt marsh near the Causeway.

Flood Tide

The next few posts were captured on the Squantum peninsula. The Causeway seen here is one of the main access roads to this part of Quincy.  It most likely got inundated on Saturday from the storm and astronomical high tides.   It is unusual to see the water this high in the estuary.

Autumn At The Creek

This lone heron is storing up for a trip South one of these weeks.  Temperatures have been balmy this October and early November.

Knee Deep

This great blue heron was knee deep in Blacks Creek looking for a snack.  I added a little post processing effect to make the background more interesting.

Wading For A Snack

The rough water in Blacks Creek added some nice background texture for these two waders.

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
