Empty Nest Syndrome

The paper wasps have apparently left home.  I didn't observe any buzzing about the nest.

This moth was stuck to the glass on my front door.  The back light helps brings out the detail in its wings.  Happy Monochrome Monday!

King Of the Insect world

I captured this monarch butterfly breathing through its wings and storing some nectar for its amazing fall flight to Mexico.

Beetlemania

These "mate guarding" Japanese beetles have made quite a feast of this beach plum flower.
