This female Eastern Tiger Swallowtail butterfly was seen and captured flitting about in Squantum today.

Rainbow Over Twin Peaks

I caught the rare sighting of a rainbow in my neighborhood during a summer shower.  Check out the beginning of a second rainbow in the upper right corner.

Summer In The City

Boston Waterfront is a short boat-ride from Quincy.  The sky helps to make this colorful summer scene.

Travel Tuesday: Kaanapali, Maui, HI

I would like to trade my shovel for a paddle right about now. We only have about 5 more months to wait until summer.

I really like how this paddler is lined up with the change in the blue tone of the water.  Along the horizon you can see the island of Lanai to the left and Molokai to the right.  Evening swimmers along these reefs can hear the song of the Pacific humpback whale swimming and cavorting in the distance.

Final Summer Holiday

This is officially the last weekend of the summer here.   This view of the Boston Harbor Islands and surrounding coastal areas is from Sea Street in Adams Shore.   Enjoy every moment of this Labor Day Weekend!

It's almost too hot to go to the beach. These life guards have little to guard at Wollaston Beach. If you enlarge the image and look under the rim of the umbrella, you will see a hazy Boston skyline.
