Cruising

This young Great Blue Heron silently passed by me on my walk along the Neponset River.  The light wasn't ideal but I couldn't resist grabbing a quick shot.  I like the tip of the heron's wing skimming the surface of the water.

And Yet Another Icy View

The tree in the foreground looks so lifeless.  It helps establish this winter view looking across the frozen Neponset River towards the State Street Office complex.  Happy Skywatch Friday!  It's good to see blue sky and feel the sun on my face.

The Neponset

The Neponset River separates Quincy and Boston. More than 70,000 people commute across the Neponset River Bridge on work days. The bridge was built in 1970 and is undergoing major repair work slowing everyone's commute.

This Town River dock is still on ice. Germantown can be seen in the background.

This is a sunset view of the Neponset River looking across towards Boston from Marina Bay. Happy Skywatch Friday everyone.

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
