Transitions
I've been under the weather lately and finally emerged to see this gorgeous spring-colored sky with a few leaves hanging on for their last hurrah before snow takes their place on the branches.

Purple Puffs
The Quonset style building is located within the Squantum saltmarsh. The people who work there must see plenty of urban wildlife in the area. Happy Skywatch Friday! The clouds look like they are painted on this image and they are - by nature!

Fall Sky
We've enjoyed a gorgeous fall around Quincy. The leaves are disappearing off the deciduous trees particularly on a windy day like today. Happy Skywatch Friday!

Feeding Frenzy
Happy Skywatch Friday! On my walk at Blacks Creek, yesterday, I spotted many white and blue herons feeding in the Creek, getting ready for their flight South.

Cloud Break at Sunset
I don't remember ever seeing cloud formations like this over Wollaston Beach. Boston looks miniscule on the horizon. Happy Skywatch Friday!

Scattered Showers
Wollaston Yacht Club is in the clear! I really like the composition in this image. (I am having some fun with the creative settings on my camera.) Happy Skywatch Friday!

Summer Sky
I like how the shapes of the evergreens contrast with the dramatic sky along Quincy Shore Drive. Happy Skywatch Friday! It's official: summer has arrived.

Layers
The sun is lighting up the Boston skyline beyond the tower in Squantum. I like the layering and subtle coloring of clouds in this image. Happy Skywatch Friday!

Election Day, 2012
I hope that every registered voter is able to travel to their polling place today. I have some trivia to share for this occasion: Did you know that Lydia Taft became the first legal woman voter in colonial America in 1756? This occurred under British rule in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. This was in a New England town meeting and she voted on at least three occasions in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. ("Travel Tuesday" will be back next week.)
Quincy's ballot today is a made up of 2 large cards; you use a pen and fill in a small oval to mark your choice. The ballot is written in two languages to assist Quincy's large Asian population.
What is the ballot like in your city or town?
Let's hope we don't go through a "punch card" fiasco anywhere in this election like we did a few years back.

Return To Blue Sky
Black's Creek estuary had a higher than normal tide yesterday and provided some nice reflections amongst the drifting wood. Happy Skywatch Friday!

In Between Land & Sky
This view of State Street office building in North Quincy, is taken from across the Neponset River at Pope Paul Park. I think Frank Lloyd Wright would like this setting.
Happy Skywatch Friday!

Remnants of Summer
The recreation department boats have been stored away until next summer. Good times were had by all at Blacks Creek. Happy Skywatch Friday! Click here to see skies from around the world.
