Lone Clammer

You have to have a strong back to dig for clams during low tide hours.  These shellfish beds are located of Squantum Point Park.

Pink Jelly Moons

This female medusa (adult) moon jellyfish picked a colorful backdrop when the tide receded at Squantum Point Park.

Storm on the Horizon

Churned Up

Happy Skywatch Friday from 1500 miles south!  The Atlantic coastal waters have certainly been churned up lately depositing all sorts of treasures on beaches.  Pictured in the foreground is a Portuguese Man O' War.

Tides Out

Today is definitely a "beach day" if you don't have school or work.  At Squantum Point you can barely make out the Boston skyline in the haze.

Final Summer Holiday

Island View

Staghorn sumac fills the foreground of this view of Peddocks Island from Nut Island in Houghs Neck.   Nut Island is a 5-acre former island in Boston Harbor that was joined by landfill to Quincy's Houghs Neck peninsula in the 1940s for use as a sewage treatment facility.

Sweet White Beach Blossom

This is the flower of the sweet scented Rose Hip plant found along the shores of Quincy.  I gave this one a cutout effect in post processing.  I hope you like it's silkscreened look.  These flowers also come in a pink variety.

Scrapped

The remains of a few old docks are rusting away on Raccoon Island.  There could be a few dollars in that metal . . .
