Wollaston Beach

Wollaston Beach is the largest Boston Harbor beach and has more than one and a half miles of shoreline. The beach has been undergoing a three year (one year over projections) renovation project that is drawing to a close in September. Renovations have included new sand, road repaving, lighting, widened sidewalks, new seawalls, bathhouse repairs, and plantings.

Wollaston Beach has long been beset with pollution problems, but recent tests have shown marked improvement in water quality. On clear days the skyline of Boston is visible, as well as some of the harbor islands

Welcome to the Boston Daily Photo fam! I love this shot - I live in Lower Mills and the bus runs right past my building and out to Wollaston. I'll have to do some exploring over there soon!

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
