Today is Armistice Day, the anniversary of the day World War I ended on the Western Front. It commemorates the ending of the war at the eleventh hour, of the eleventh day, of the eleventh month in 1918. Armistice Day was changed to Veteran's Day in the U.S. after World War II, to honor all veterans. In honor of Veterans Day and the men and women of Quincy who served, this week I will present a series of Quincy war memorials.
Today's picture is the WWI memorial in front of the Quincy Historical Society.
