Sunday is for Church

The folks at Faith Lutheran Church on Granite Street, took Matthew's Gospel literally and built their house of worship upon a rock. This church, formerly called the Swedish Lutheran Church, was built sometime before 1919.

Granite gospel on Sunday? How appropriate.
Exactly how many churches does Quincy host?

Eliane: I believe there are over 50 churches, temples, and at least one mosque in Quincy. The number varies as some of these churches are quite small.

Overall church attendance in Quincy, as in the rest of the country, is quite low, but there are a few Catholic and Evangelical churches in Quincy with larger congregations. (He said as he sat at his computer on a Sunday morning:)

Luke: Thanks for stopping by.

Nice "upon this rock" sort of church...I'm guessing Jesus would have approved of their building code and adherence to regulation...(!) another nice church photo...

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
