March Madness

Helping Youth Pursue Engineering and Robotics is what Quincy's robotics team named HYPER stands for. A record 7,000+ youth were doing just that this past weekend at Boston's FIRST Regional meet held at Boston University. This year's sporting event for young minds provided a thrilling competition that inspires young people to pursue careers as scientists and engineers and promotes a spirit of "gracious professionalism" that is too often lost in our focus on sports. P&G Gillette has been the sponsor for Quincy's team #69 for 11 years and their engineers worked in partnership with the teachers and students for 6 weeks building the robot pictured here. More than 1500 teams worldwide are competing in this year's game called "Overdrive".

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
