Rite of Spring

The best spring car wash in Quincy was held this past Saturday. The proceeds of this annual fund raiser benefits the Quincy High School Tennis Team, "The Presidents". For $4-$5 your car gets really clean and the team get new tennis bags and uniforms. It's a win, win for everyone.

I like the towels hanging on the railings to dry in the 40ish F air. Brrrrr! Imagine what it's like on the tennis courts??

Yep. It happens everywhere. Those with elephants wash them too.

Nice photograph. A ritual to be sure.

I hope you have a nice week.

Love the old school in the background! I definitely need a car wash, but I also need the five bucks to get one!

Cool. But I prefer to wash my car myself.

I used to live near there and remember seeing the kids trying to flag the cars down. Great picture! I'm enjoying your blog. ; )

I remember doing the same thing when I was in high school in Utah! I was on the tennis team, but I think our car wash was for the Key Club. Weird memory. Cool pictures!

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
