About 60 miles north west of Quincy, mother nature coated everything with a layer of ice. Power has been out for 3 days in some areas causing a hardship for many.

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.

I heard about this - loss of power in such conditions would frighten me terribly.
I've been following the story on the news here. Not nice.
We've gotten a bit of a cold snap in the Pacific NW, but nothing as debilitating as conditions in the NE.
Never underestimate Mother Nature - she can sure make a mess! Although the ice is pretty in photographs...
