This smart dad brought a chair to Sailors' Home Pond to help his kids put their skates on and to save his back in doing so. Sailors' Pond is in the middle of a residential section in Wollaston called Beechwood Knoll, which is close to Wollaston Beach. The frigid temps must be keeping most skaters indoors today.

He's still doing some back bending. I wonder if that chair will be used for a new skater's balance. Or just for dad to sit and watch his children skate.
Good point about the back bending in spite of the chair factor . . .
Just to be sure I would put the chair on solid ground!!!
He is smart! It would be much easier for the kiddos to get up on their feet from the seat, than from the ground. I'll try to remember that the next time we skate. That will be next year since all the ice is buried underneath lots and lots of snow!
Takes me back. We used to do that when we were kids in Canada only we tried to walk through the orchard with our skates on to the pond. Brrrr.
