This Queen Anne style house is one of two domed towered residences in the Wollaston Hill section of Quincy. The most striking element of this fine Queen Anne residence is the extraordinary variety of shingles which are used on all the wall surfaces. The monochrome really shows off the shingle detail. David L. Jewell was the builder of this home in 1888 and members of the Jewell family lived here until the 1930s . . . hence the house name.

Superb picture - must be a great feature in your town.
Old house Thursday sounds like a neat Meme! I'll be back:)
A beautiful photo!
I would love to walk through this house. I hope they've managed to preserve most of the finish work from the turn of the century. Nice angle on this!
Great shot in b&w. I like the angle and composition as it does show off the shingling to its best. Have a great week.
Very attractive house. For some reason it reminds me of the funeral home in Six Feet Under (hope I'm not treading on anyone's toes . . .)
Perfect perspective
Beautiful photo and house!
Very nice!
Fab house, it really stands out in black and white.
Could you please post links to a Google map so I can find where these cool houses are? :D
Wonderful house. All those shingles make it look almost like an iced cake!
Yes the shingles are fantastic. Loved how you framed and composed the photo. Really like looking at houses like this. Cool shot!
