Island Ferry

This is the Quincy Commuter boat at George's Island dock. The image seemed to work in black and white. You can see more black and white images by clicking here: Monochrome Monday.

Very nice indeed in b&w;-)

I liked that composition with the ferry off-centre. Lots off interesting lines.

This is a super picture - movement in the boat pulling away and the lovely static silhouettes.

It does work well in B&W. I like that the ferries are full of people but there is one lone figure on the dock with his bent knee, softening the lines of the image and giving it perspective.

The contrast in the photo is perfect - the ferry in the light and the dock in the shadows. Perfect.

I love the strong light, and the enlarged detail is great.

That is a nice looking boat scene.

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
