Happy Valentine's Day

More than 188 million valentines are exchanged each year.
The first commercial Valentine's Day greeting cards produced in the U.S. in the 1840s, were created by Esther A. Howland from Worcester Massachusetts, which is about an hour's drive from here. Enjoy!

I don't know how you did this or what exactly it is but what a gentle, dreamy image you've achieved here. Beautifully done. Have a lovely day.

bc- I captured this heart as it appeared on my kitchen table a couple of mornings ago. The shadow is cast from a hanging window ornament that is set in perpetual motion from the heater beneath which gives it the soft blurred effect.

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
