Shapes, Shadows & Light
I couldn't resist posting this image for Monochrome Monday. I captured this inside the McKim building of the Boston Public Library.
The Quincy connection you ask ??? Architect Charles F. McKim worked earlier in his career for HH Richardson, the architect of Quincy's Thomas Crane Library.

It was great fun to meet Mr & Mrs. Brattcat at the BPL on Saturday. Clueless IB & I had a great time meeting up with our first CDP blogger! It was wonderful to see Brattcat on a slow prowl. Thank you, BC and hope that paw gets better 7 better every day.
The mix of patterns and light is intriguing, the way some of the windows have a light patch on the floor and others don't; very good, I can see why you wanted to post it.

This is very beautiful - composition, shapes, mood.
Wonderful patterns, and the contrast is so strong. I like it a lot.
BW- Yes, Henry Hobson Richardson was also the architect of the Ames Library in Easton.
A beautiful shot, Slim. I, too, found the light in this room irresistible. Mr. BC and I also loved spending a few galloping hours with you and Clueless IB (though I wasn't doing much galloping). I hope we can do it again soon.
just SUPERB!
