Theme Day: Statues
The first of the month is theme day in the City Daily Photo blogging community. Pictured here is a beautiful bronze statue of Quincy's famous First Lady, Abigail Adams, with a guiding hand on the shoulder of son and future president, John Quincy Adams. The sculptor is Lloyd Lillie.

It's a beautiful and sweet sculpture, and it looks gorgeous against the wonderful blossoms!
very nice indeed especially with that background
What an excellent capture for this theme, Slim!
It is indeed lovely. The details of the dress and the cape are wonderful.
The Adams family must be part of theme day in B-town... see Clueless.
I like the statue of Abigail and young Johnny. It always looks to me like she is calling across Hancock Street to her husband, John Adams -- "Don't forget to buy cheese!"
The presence of the quill pen in Abigail's hand is puzzling to me and perhaps confusing to the young. I am old enough to recall when pens were dipped in ink. Of course, no one would go walking about holding a quill as if anticipating jotting down a note or two. Is it a ball point quill? This artistic choice is a wrong note in an otherwise satisfactory and happy composition.
such a lovely pair of statues and such feelings evoked from the image
Perfect with the cherry trees.
The pink petals make it stands out on the portal.
Beautiful take.
How sensitive this is. The gentle hand and so beautiful against the pink blossom.
John Quincy Adams, the original Quincy kid.
It is soooo beautiful, full of style. The wonderful pink from the trees are also very pretty.
