That house is amazing. It sort of reminds me of a blue house that's at the intersection of Butler and Putnam. I'm sure you know the one.
That little orange accent is a delightful surprise.
I always like your Old house posts
This orange touch Has to bring a smile that's for sure!
I love when people know how to pick good house colors and accents. I wish I had that skill
That's my house!! Thanks for the nice comments!! We did some digging when we moved in 3 years ago, and we found that the house was actually built in the 1880s. I love it here. The neighborhood is fantastic!!
owner here... thank you all for your comments.
we are having a wonderful time restoring this home.
it was love at first sight! thankfully my wife noticed it one day as we were driving through the neighborhood.
the oldest record on the house we were ble to find was 1886, i think it was when they ran gas or electric to the home. beyond that we have been able to find nothing. next on the list is to restore the front porch... should be done this year. i have to plug my GCm FANTASTIC job! honest, incredible attention to detail and honest.. (Mike Ahern Contracting out of dorchester 617.590.4535) we replace all the clap-board with stained clear cedar, and all the corner boards, dormers, header, and water-table with PVC... where on a five-year plan... landscaping is next. were' so lucky to have found this jewel of a neighborhood! and i have to give credit to my wife on the orange.... she has an eye. keep watching... where still going!
