Crimson Drupe

The Staghorn Sumacs are displaying their colorful fruit along coastal areas. These plants are just getting warmed up for their "big show" in the fall.

What a pretty plant. I have forgotten, in the 40 years since I lived in Massachusetts, what these sumacs look like in the fall.

This image looks like a scene from an exotic island somewhere...I just opened mail from a cousin who sent me a news photo of kids in the Quincy recreation program sailing on Black's Creek! What a coincidence! I love all of your images, reading your blog is like a mini visit home for me, thanks

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
