Thursday is "This Old House Day"
Built in 1888, this large double residence at 25-27 Summer Street was moved from Quincy Avenue at a cost of $2000 in 1923. This fine example of the Italianate Bracketed Style, includes the roof overhang supported with heavy shaped brackets, a central peaked gable filled with a small round headed window, and long double window capped with projecting decorative molding. The porch would have been open when first built.
