Meet Dixie. She came to Quincy by bus from Arkansas with 15 other pooches who were saved from being put down last year. Dixie's new owner used to be accompanied on his walks in Quincy by a 3-legged canine named "Lucky." Lucky died of old age last year and was not easily replaced . . .
This man's sister persuaded him to take in one of these rescued pooches from the Pet Savers group. I think Dixie got real lucky.

That is great news. And it made my day. Thanks for posting the pictures.
I love these photos--the one of Dixie and the two walking on that snowy road (and that is thick snow covering the tree branches!)...hope you all are warm!
That looks like a labrador ?
Must be some bird hunting dog.
Cheers
Awww...Dixie is so sweet, as was the story in your post. Very heartwarming!
That is a great story! I think Dixie and her human are two lucky souls.
What a great story and a great dog. I so love to hear of dogs being given a second change. Looks like a great partnership.
