This wind vane is perched atop the Stone Library on the Adams Mansion grounds. I've never seen one quite like it. Wind or weather vanes might make a fun "theme day".

Oooh, I love those!! It would be a good theme. When I was a kid I was mesmerized by the one one of our neighbor had: it was a little man pulling a bucket of water out of a well. It was made in plastic, in bright red, yellow, white and black. Probably something absolutely ugly like those garden gnomes but to me it was magical!
That is a very interesting weather vane. A beauty of a shot too! I have just started looking for and shooting weather vanes in the last few months and plan to start using some here and there in the blog. In fact, used one today for Odd Shots.
