Many are taking advantage of a holiday today(Martin Luther King Day) and a fresh blanket of snow to go sledding at Furnace Brook Golf Course. This is close to the site of Quincy's one and only skiing area, "Heavenly Hill" which was closed in the early 1970s.

I think this photo is very touching, don't know exactly why...
Nice photo, I remember that old rope tow hill very well. must be getting old.
My sons used to sled down this hill, but I never knew it was a former ski slope. No wonder it was a great place to sled.
Brilliant shot! Great composition and contrasting colours too.
Stunning colors.
Great fun!
I'm glad you all stopped by today. Unfortunately my childhood memories of the 840' rope tow involved getting entangled in the rope tow by my scarf. I didn't get too hung up on that early experience because I did a lost of sledding and tobogganing after that and brought my sons here for sledding and tubing.
Thanks for comments on Drammen Daily Photo and the Church photo. Its snowing in both shots :) Umbrella keeaps me almost dry :o)
Perfect winter shot!
