This library though was not built the way Presidential libraries are today...to store the president's papers.. This was a personal and family library, built out of stone to be fire proof.
Thank you for clarifying that, Sarah, you're absolutely right. there are 13 Presidential Libraries that archive President's papers and media. They began with President Herbert Hoover. You can read more here: http://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/about/office.html
