Readers' Paradise Revisited

This is the owl and book relief gracing the Romanesque style archway into the Thomas Crane Public Library. It's fine free month; fines are going to be increased beginning July 1st. Follow the rules and it's still the best deal in town!

Wish I could say the same thing about our public libraries… :(

Oh, come on, who doesn't love a public library. Best thing since sliced bread...er, maybe they preceeded sliced bread.

Of all the numerous times I passed through the arches of Thomas Crane I never looked up or noticed the wonderful stone carvings. I wished I had. Now that I no longer live in Quincy I probably take it less for granted and viewing your photos is a way for me to keep in touch with my roots. I haven't lived in Quincy for over 25 years.
