Door Knocker?
This ring would make a really great door knocker, wouldn't it? I spotted it on a wall near the artillery battery at Fort Warren on Georges Island. I am not sure of its function. Perhaps it was used to help anchor the artillery.
I like the texture of the wall and the circular striker mark under the ring.
