
Behind South Station these red line trains wait to be put into service. I had to capture the train yard through the closely woven chain link fence from an overpass.

Cool! I always wanted to try shooting through a fence. I recently read on article that gave some useful tips. If I remember correctly, there were several key points: shoot as close to the fence as possible; shoot at wide aperture [5.6 or less]; and, if you have a zoom lens, shoot at as high a focal length as possible. All these affect the bokeh and tend to eliminate the fencing in the foreground. Seems logical!
