Absolutely. The Bargain Center was a fixture when I was growing up in the 1960s.
My grandmother lived in Wollaston, on Sherman Street. She'd take me by bus to the Bargie and buy me fancy ruffled dresses when I was two. My mother shopped there for years and I can recall buying things there during high school.
BTW, I am a huge fan of your blog, even if I don't comment. I was born in Quincy. I lived at Adams Place for several years during eighties. I now live in Florida, so I like to catch up with Quincy via your blog!
