Travel Tuesday: Maui, Hawaii

This hillside on the highway near Lahaina shows how arid the climate is in this area of Maui.  In sharp contrast, rain forests are located on the other side of the island.  There are an amazing number of  climate zones represented on this 727 square mile island.

Easy to take pictures from the road as there are constant traffic jams! Noticed the one side of the mountain is near desert while the other is a rain forest. Loved Maui. Saving $$$ for return trip.

Summer Attraction

This tiger swallowtail butterfly was a delight to see pollinating the phlox bed along my driveway.
