The Adams historic homes open today for the season. Many tourists and local folks will pass underneath these finials to get a closer look at the summer White House of John and John Quincy Adams at 135 Adams Street.

Very nice photo, looks impressive in black and white. I wish I had seen that home when I lived in the Boston area nearly forty years ago.
I love the finial and I love the shadows which echo the original. John and John ... is that what you meant to type? Father and son ... surely not partners?
Beautiful detail when enlarged - so much to see. My first impression was of the shapes of the wall and strong shadows, a great pattern.
