This family is enjoying a late summer stroll along "Wollie Beach". I like the soft colors of the sky in this Skywatch Friday image.

Plenty of Puddles & Parking
We're experiencing a Nor'easter which brings some welcomed rain. This is the rooftop of the former Paperama and to be really nostalgic, Raymond's Department Store.

A Breath Of Fresh
The air is being cleared of construction particles and final work is being done on Quincy's new high school. I will be posting a few more images from the site as the opening of school fast approaches.
This is my contribution to Monochrome Weekend. Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Down Under
Bridge work is very disruptive to 70,700 vehicles that cross this bridge daily, but it is long overdue. The new piers are in place and now the 40-year-old Neponset River Bridge, which connects Quincy to Boston, will receive a new deck along with some other work.
You can get more information on local road and bridge work HERE.

Thursday is "This Old House Day"
This colonial revival recently received a face-lift and some new paint colors. I understand that the owners took time to research the colors that were used at the time their house was built in 1900. These colors show off the angles and architectural details of this fine home at 137 Prospect Avenue. Check out the unique wrap-around porches! The cutout umbrella design can also be seen on other turn-of-the-century houses around Quincy.

Reap What You Sow
On my recent travels, I was reminded of a favorite character from Barbara Cooney's book, Miss Rumphius, in which the grandfather tells his grandaughter (Miss Rumphius) that she needs to do something to make the world more beautiful. She planted lupine seeds along the highways and byways of Maine!
I didn't come across any lupines along the byways, but I did spot this 5-pointed beauty in the garden at the Adams National Historic site when I got home to Quincy.
What would you do, if you were given that directive?
